HOOPS Exchange 2022

What’s New in HOOPS Exchange 2022

Over the last year the HOOPS product teams have largely focused their efforts on delivering partner needs and providing timely product releases across the entire platform. Continue reading below to find out more about HOOPS Exchange 2022.

Format Updates

Our first priority is to deliver format updates for both native CAD and standard formats in a timely manner so the applications our partners are developing can access the latest versions as soon as possible. During the past year, we delivered 13 updated formats, including Inventor 2022, Acis 2021 1.0, Parasolid 34.0, and many more.

Due to the release dates from the editors of SolidWorks 2022 and Siemens/NX 2007, we are planning to deliver these formats in the next update of HOOPS Exchange (HE 2022 U1) planned beginning of February 2022.

Improved BIM Workflows: Boolean Operations

HOOPS Exchange 2022 features improved Boolean operations support for cutouts such as doors and windows within the IFC file format.

Support for glTF/GLB Writer

The glTF format (Graphics Language Transmission Format) developed by the Kronos Group is meant to deliver 3D assets with a support of 3D models with appearances including PBR materials.

Support for Mates (assembly constraints)

The Mates or assembly constraints are information that describe how parts have been assembled and fit together. Accessing the mates from the native CAD files helps optimizing workflows for applications in Manufacturing simulation, Robotic, Kinematics Analysis and more, by enabling them to generate a kinematics model of the assembly.

Support for “Spatial Relationships”

HOOPS Exchange supports “Spatial Relationships” that are part of the IFC model definition. Accessing these relationships enables the ability to navigate in the model, query the model in the context of Quantity take off (QTO) and more.
