For companies needing to translate CATIA V5 data, SpinFire Convert provides two technology solutions, both using Dassault Systèmes API tools which are supported by Dassault. These are the CAA and Interop API’s. Being supported by Dassault means data compatibility is assured, along with back up support from the vendor.
Our CATIA V5 products which use Dassault’s CAA libraries link to and require access to a V5 license in order to run. As such that enables them to be run directly inside V5 with an interactive “save as” capability, as well as being able to run in batch mode and linked to PLM.
Our CATIA V5 products which use Dassault’s Interop libraries do not need a separate V5 license to run, as such they provide an independent self-contained solution for companies who do not have a CATIA V5 system installed or access to a license. They can be run interactively using the GUI or in batch mode and linked to PLM.
Our CATIA V5 Multi-CAD products utilize Dassault’s XCAD libraries, providing an interactive solution for CATIA V5 users who also work with data in Creo, NX or JT. Multi-CAD keeps data integrity by creating an associative link directly to the source data when imported to CATIA V5. This link ensures correct versions are used, data remains up to date and CATIA users have reliable data to work with.

This integration ensures that the entire enterprise always has synchronized, correct, and up-to-date data.
Yes. The CATIA V5 <> JT translator, part of SpinFire Convert, provides direct database translation between Dassault Systèmes CATIA V5 and the Siemens JT file format, commonly used within Teamcenter PLM.
The translator can be licensed as either a single uni-direction product for CATIA V5 to JT, or JT to CATIA V5. Alternatively, a bi-directional license package is available which supports both directions of translation, dependent upon requirements.
The translator makes CATIA V5 data usable in Teamcenter-managed environments by converting all forms of 3D mechanical design geometry, assembly structures, system-defined attributes, and colour information.
