French-based Renault, one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, operates complex global vehicle development programs across multiple engineering environments. The company designs and produces a wide range of popular vehicles, including hybrid and fully electric models.  

Automotive design and development are inherently collaborative, with Renault working closely with many global partners and suppliers, making seamless CAD data exchange essential. As part of their constant efforts to improve, Renault sought an affordable system that could automate and expand their CAD data access while minimizing the risk of data loss. 

While JT was an ideal neutral format for sharing 3DEXPERIENCE data across environments, Renault faced ongoing challenges with reliable, high-volume data conversion. Manual data processing slowed workflows and introduced risk into critical engineering exchanges. 

System integration was a key area of consideration for Renault when managing CAD access. They also leverage multiple PLM systems throughout their business, including Teamcenter, which is also used by a key business partner. As a result, they needed their data to be accessible within this PLM system to streamline alignment between organizations.
