We're a user of the SpinFire Enterprise Edition and I'm going to speak a little bit about a unique use case that came up and the high-level steps of how we got to that point. We've been a SpinFire user for quite a number of years, we're a heavy engineering design in automotive and manufacturing world.",{"type":33,"attrs":62,"content":63},{"textAlign":35},[64],{"text":65,"type":39},"So quite a few years ago we could do the back-of-a-napkin math and realize that the Enterprise Edition was a very smart choice cost-wise. And like a lot of IT organizations, we try to stay a half a step ahead of the organization. Because especially now, how fast things are moving and we don't live in a perfect world and sometimes IT is towards the end of hearing about new programs, new facilities, new initiatives, and it's difficult with staffing to keep up with those. So, we were cognizant that we understood we didn't know what we didn't know, but we could see at a very high level a potential. So, we made the decision to start installing the SpinFire application as part of our standard desktop load across the organization.",{"type":33,"attrs":67,"content":68},{"textAlign":35},[69],{"text":70,"type":39},"We have approximately 45 different physical locations, and like everyone the last few years have been extremely challenging, and some other unique use cases have came up to us. And being that half a step ahead helped us be able to support our users. One of the unique groups that came forward was our HR and Health and Safety departments.",{"type":33,"attrs":72,"content":73},{"textAlign":35},[74],{"text":75,"type":39},"Before, pre-pandemic, a lot of times they would get information from fire extinguisher companies, emergency evacuation plans, building evacuation areas, and a lot of times, or construction lunchrooms, things of that nature. They would get provided to them physical drawings, or unbeknownst to us many times there would be the sneaker network. They’d get a file and instead of putting an IT ticket in or asking for help, they would go steal some time of an engineer or someone and get them to help them open a particular file or map and get it printed out.",{"type":33,"attrs":77,"content":78},{"textAlign":35},[79],{"text":80,"type":39},"Well, a lot of those avenues evaporated during the pandemic. A lot of the HR and Health and Safety were working from home and new challenges came up with having to put temperature checks and dividing areas up for safe distancing and looking at maps and air purifiers. And I'm sure we've all heard about these instances. But one of the problems was, a lot of these different vendors and suppliers and partners we have, they would provide our safety team in a multitude of either AutoCAD or ProE or different versions of NX and SolidWorks. And being at home the problem was, how would they open these files?",{"type":33,"attrs":82,"content":83},{"textAlign":35},[84],{"text":85,"type":39},"Well, unbeknownst to them some of them, they started to just click on them and not even realizing they had the SpinFire application loaded, the file would open up and they would be able to view it, interact with the stakeholder as far as looking at areas, and being able to understand the data on their own. And we've gotten some of that feedback and did a little deeper dive to understand some of the issues and things that they've went through in the past. And it was surprising to us that from an IT perspective we weren’t that acutely aware of some of the data and files and type of information they were receiving.",{"type":33,"attrs":87,"content":88},{"textAlign":35},[89],{"text":90,"type":39},"And a lot of them started corresponding with a fire extinguisher company or a lunchroom vendor, “Hey can you send me that in SpinFire?” And some of the vendors, they would ask us, they’d come back to us, “What is SpinFire they’re talking about?” Because our end users thought they were just receiving SpinFire files because when they clicked on the file that they received from the stakeholder the SpinFire application would just open up and they would be able to view and take a look with all the features and markup the drawings or layouts or safety areas.",{"type":33,"attrs":92,"content":93},{"textAlign":35},[94],{"text":95,"type":39},"So that is one area that definitely was not on our radar as far as potentially being a SpinFire user. But, like I alluded to earlier, trying to stay that one step ahead of the organization and when we decided to go to the Enterprise model, it just made sense to make that part of our standard load.",{"type":33,"attrs":97,"content":98},{"textAlign":35},[99],{"text":100,"type":39},"Many things facilitated, outside of us trying many times to get a new application or program and it's a little bit of a struggle to present that to the organization, show them the value, teach them how to use it. But this is a unique instance where we provided the tool, even unbeknownst to many of the users. But when the issue came up, they were able to just click on an emergency evacuation plan, or a lunchroom layout, or a change in spacing in an office area, and they were just able to open it up either at home, or now that we're back in the office and not have to steal time from an engineer or designer. And they were even able to mark things up and send them back.",{"type":33,"attrs":102,"content":103},{"textAlign":35},[104],{"text":105,"type":39},"So we're doing a little bit of investigation to see even other areas in the organization that aren't as black and white that you would initially think of using SpinFire for. Obviously the purchasing and areas like that you can easily correlate a use for having them to see parts and that. But HR and Safety is definitely one that was very interesting to us and just makes the investment even that more beneficial.",{"type":33,"attrs":107,"content":108},{"textAlign":35},[109],{"text":110,"type":39},"With people staggering their time, working from home and in the office, we're trying to understand even a little bit more other areas and groups that aren't necessarily in the design and engineering world, but that are able to use this viewing product and work with their stakeholders to make their jobs easier. But this was, for once, a problem that we solved and were able to help them with that we didn't even know existed. And they told us how they were going about it.",{"type":33,"attrs":112,"content":113},{"textAlign":35},[114],{"text":115,"type":39},"So we felt very positive and we're trying to even understand a little bit more other areas that might not off the tip of your tongue think would use a, I'm using air quotes, a CAD viewing type of application. And more and more as things are removed from the paper world and a lot of documents are exchanged electronically, we're seeing that more and more functional departments are able to use this, from parking lot layouts to program management which is pretty entwined with looking at design parts.
