CLIENT FOCUS

CDR 2009.jpg

“COADE has enjoyed a close technical relationship with the team at Tech Soft 3D since 1998 when we first began to rely on their HOOPS graphics platform. When a business opportunity arose for COADE to develop CADWorx Design Review, a high-performance plant design review tool, we immediately turned to the HOOPS team, who provided us with excellent performance with large models, superior service and a responsive development team.”
Thomas J. Van Laan,  PE, COADE, Inc.

PROGRAMMER'S TIP

HOOPS v16.20 adds support for Google SketchUp.  Google SketchUp has a simple yet powerful interface for putting ideas into a 3D world.  After a quick download of the Google SketchUp SDK and setting the environment variable SKP_SDK_INSTALL_DIR, the HOOPS MVO HIO module HIOUtilitySKP compiles.

Create a few simple models in SketchUp then save the models with .skp extension.  The HOOPS partviewer application will load these files.  To see more sophisticated models in SketchUp, open the “File” menu and go to the “3D Warehouse” menu and select “Get Models”.  From the 3D Warehouse we can load thousands of model in SketchUp.  Simply save these files locally then load them in HOOPS.

HOOPS supports many other file formats as well.  Using HOOPS in your application allows your application to read and write many popular file formats.  This enables your users greater flexibility in their work flows and allows them to support a large base of existing 3D content.
