The first time I presented our Core Values to our team, a hand shot up in the back of the room when I got to this one. With more than a little smirk, one of our developers said, “Isn’t that what every business is after? Why do we have to spell it out in our Core Values? That’s like saying that humans value oxygen, or water.”

The first time one of our developers saw this, he said, “This one sounds like it should be on a poster with an eagle soaring above a mountain landscape.” I couldn’t really argue so I asked him a question about big-endian and little-endian memory storage. I figured this would buy me enough time to think about it. It worked.
I’m pretty sure that most companies have an official company statement that they care about their employees, so their employees think that they care about them.
We’ve all heard that speech, usually delivered by some junior high or high school student. “Webster’s Dictionary defines <insert inspiring word> as <insert definition>.”
We have a lot of math-oriented employees and customers at Tech Soft 3D. So the words, “Core Values” may send our math-minded folks scrambling to find the integer at the center of an operation.
We just completed another great HOOPS Visualize training at our Berkeley engineering office – and I would go so far as to say the best one ever. We had several international companies that service the construction industry in attendance. One attendee braved 50 hours of flying and layovers to join us!
