Factory Automation & Robotics Customers

Tech Soft 3D components have proven to be valuable building blocks in a range of applications for the Factory Automation and Robotics industries such as Factory Design & Off-Line Programming, Simulation, and Process Planning. Below are just a few of the ways software firms in these fields make use of our suite of robust components.

Amada is a leading provider of machine tools to the fabrication industry. To complement their full suite of manufacturing hardware, Amada has developed Virtual Factory – a solution for the efficient operation of an entire factory. Using real-time feedback from the factory floor, Virtual Factory enables analysis of efficiency via an animated 3D interface. By using HOOPS, Virtual Factory can deliver high-performance display of complex, full-factory animations and simulations, making it a powerful software solution.

Brooks Automation, now owned by Applied Materials, develops a range of software applications for manufacturing process efficiency; including AutoMOD, their simulation application for designing optimal factory layouts and process flows. Using HOOPS, the AutoMOD team was able to achieve impressive performance gains over their previous graphics approach, as well as adding capabilities such as full-scene animation and collision detection.

Yaskawa Electric Corporation manufactures and sells industrial robots and motors. As a software complement, Yaskawa develops MotoSim EG, a software applications for users to creates robot motion-control programs and run virtual simulations of the robot in the manufacturing environment in order to check for potential interference and clearance problems. When Yaskawa needed to extend MotoSim’s ability to handle the loading, display and simulation of very large CAD models, they turned to HOOPS and InterOp from Tech Soft partner Spatial in Tokyo, Japan. Working with Spatial consultants , Yaskawa was able to achieve their goals within six months and ship a significantly more robust version of their application.
