Jason Boer

Jason Boer
Member of Technical Staff

One of the two longest-serving engineers at TS3D, Jason has worn many hats - finally settling into the key position of managing all of TS3D's software development efforts.

In addition to managing the development team, doing feature scheduling, functional specifications and overseeing testing, Jason has somehow found time to be the developer of hoops_net, hoops utilities, HIO and many 3dgs features like opengl font support, antialiasing, images and texture mapping. Jason got stuck with these vital, though somewhat un-sexy projects primarily because others feared to tread on these hallowed grounds within HOOPS 3dgs -or more likely because they were busy on some cool new feature.

Bringing all of the current and future HOOPS features up to the high standards he sets remains Jason’s primary focus. To that end, he has developed the internal testing system for 3dgs and aims to get more and more of the HOOPS code base under daily testing.

Setting up networking internally and externally and keeping day to day work flowing smoothly are a persistent part of Jason's life, as are filtering spam, routing packets and other network effluvium.

Though born, raised and educated in Iowa City, Jason has always felt the San Francisco Bay Area his true home. He enjoys collecting music, rocks and current art. He's recently discovering ocean fishing (with the help of fellow TS3D fishing enthusiast Ivan Lee)... so if you're interested in swapping fishing tales the next time you're in the Berkeley office please be sure to find Jason.
