Richard Baxter

An experienced IT veteran, Richard brings to Tech Soft the benefits of a long and varied career in Computer Graphics. After working on large-scale data processing projects for IBM and the UK Post Office, Richard fell into 3D programming by accident, following the return from his first round-the-world trip. Since then he has worked as a developer on a variety of end-user products including 2D Drafting, Kitchen Design, Virtual Reality Games and most recently collaborative viewing of large models for Daimler Chrysler's strategic Digital Factory project. However a large part of his career has been spent designing, developing, supporting, marketing, selling and integrating 3D software toolkits for the industrial CAD/CAM market.

Prior to joining Tech Soft he personally helped to integrate toolkits into more than twenty commercial CAD/CAM systems, and has managed more than fifty major clients in this area. As an independent consultant he worked directly on three world-leading CAM systems. On top of this consultancy focus he has worked as both Development Manager and General Manager for a successful multi-million dollar world-leading product-line.

Richard graduated in Physics from Cambridge University and has just returned from his second round the world trip, taking the grand total of countries visited to 53 out of 193. Outside work he loves orienteering, mountain running and biking, alpine and telemark skiing, wine-tasting and photography; but, mostly wine-tasting.

Nonetheless, since joining Tech Soft he lives in dread of social events involving Yanick.
