Ken Royall
Director, European Sales
Ken has been involved with 3D graphics applications development
for over 25 years. Yes, there was such a thing as 3D computer
graphics 25 years ago…
After a minutely small start writing 3D software for nuclear
particle paths at Oxford University, Ken moved to larger-scale
work with some of the earliest 3D graphics libraries, then on
to work with many of the early 3D modeling applications. Ken
then (some would say, wisely) made the quantum leap from programming
into the world of business development and has never looked
back.
Ken’s experience spans Animation and Digital Entertainment,
working variously in broadcast TV animation and film production,
through Architectural and Engineering Modeling, Manufacturing
Automation and Product and Mechanical Design – essentially
any application area where 3D graphics are employed as the basis
for visual communication and applications interaction. Ken has
also directly managed a number of 3D applications initiatives
from early stage development through to international rollout,
including, most recently a production management tool for 3D
animation and a globally distributed selection and delivery
system for digital music.
With extensive international operational experience in the US,
Europe and the Far East, Ken has driven the emergence of multi-million-dollar
businesses in all continents. Ken holds an MBA in International
Business from the Écôle des Affairs de Paris and
lives in London with his two teenage daughters.
Outside of Tech Soft 3D, Ken is often to be found wandering
the romantic hills of his native Lake District national park
in England, camera in hand, chasing that elusive magical shot
and living the illusion that he’s actually a better photographer
than he really is. He also does voluntary work to support Richard
with his wine-tasting. |
